Interior design sourcing suggestions to break away from the boring trends...
Welcome
Hi I'm Katie O'Gorman and I'm an Interior Designer in London. I often find that designers are stuck in a rut of using the same old suppliers on every job. I hope this blog enables people to see the fantastically diverse range of beautiful items on offer, enjoy!
I think these eye catching original 18th century work given a modern twist by Artist Bernard Py are great, find them at Atelier by Abigail Ahern, there are six in the series. Abigail has a great blog too, find it in 'my favorite blogs' list
I've seen these wooden shoe moulds for sale at various car boot sales and absolutely love them. You can either actually use them or just have them out as antique ornaments; brilliant for a dressing room of sorts. These ones are from The French House, one of my favourite antique houses, well worth a look and their showroom in Parson's Green is amazing.
Look at this amazing Alice in Wonderland wallpaper from Trustworth Studios, would be great in an old fashioned style childrens playroom or even a downstairs loo. Have a browse of their whole brilliant collection. Uk supplier is Tony Roche
With the end of sumer fast approaching it's a great time to think about quilts to keep nice and warm at night. Graham and Green has just brought out a new range of colourful quilts and cushions to liven up any room, take a look at their website for more.
This is a great new artist on the scene, Rosie Blair does anything from cards and illustrations to commissioned paintings. Her 'London Townies' series are both witty and imaginative, and she has fantastic cards for every occasion. Check out her website for more examples of her work and details of where she is next exhibiting.
This cake was beautifully designed by my friend and chef extraordinaire Isobel Macmillan-Scott for the Times Royal Bake Off, we are all very proud that she came second. I love the colour pallet and the vintage look Wills and Kate plate. Congratulations!
Vivian Maier
This is by the amazing Vivian Maier, a nanny in Chicago 1950's-90's who did photography as a hobby. All her prints and negatives have recently been found in an auction and published, she is now being dubbed and one of the best photographers of her day. Unfortunately she has passed away and never knew the extent of her talent. Check out this blog with many of her pictures on.
Inspirational Pictures

Absolutely love the artist Rene Gruau who is famous for his Dior adverts. There's an exhibition of his work at Somerset House from November-January, very excited!
I love this old sign painted onto a wall down a small alley in Lewes, great colour combination
This is a picture taken from my recent trip to Brighton, I thought the bold use of colour for the sea front was fantastic
